TREE

"The project subject was very palpable, “celebration of trees” to connect special trees around the
world”. In one hand, I feel connected to the trees as I grow up between them in a greenish four
season land and ‘tree’ has been a kind of conceptual/representative material in my practicing, but
in another hand as I’m living somewhere far from my native land finding a special tree here,
sounds quite off road!! But as project request and I was determined to make works and push this
boundary; (to work with someone else rules!) I tried to find a tree that I feel it’s special."
"It was the opening day of the exhibition that I was the participated artist. After a great
day in the gallery and breath-in lots of good experiences and feelings of doing something
progressive... at the end of the show, I was walking back to the carpark and thinking that
I possibly never forget the day when I found the tree! right in front of me...a flower tree,
in that moment, that tree become special to me... not only because it was in that gallery
yard also because this kind of paper flower tree is very popular in this region.. quite
symbolic..."
"Since then whenever I pass by, I check to see if the flag is still wrapped up around the
branches... seems something connected to me too..."
